Sounds likely:-)
is there much science in Blade Runner? Replicant technology maybe
That looks really good Sunk, I don't have HBO Max though I'm afraid. I have Disney+ and Netflix. Not paying for any more streaming services!
Apple are currently making a series based on Asimov’s ‘Foundation’ books. Should be out early next year.
Jno, there's plenty of fictional science in Blade Runner. Star Wars, not so much. It's more magic than science.
Mozz,
HBO content usually ends up on SKY Atlantic/NowTV for its UK distribution.
Fingers crossed then Sunk. I'm looking forward to Brave New World later this week. Fantastic book.
plenty of sci fi in Star Wars, tractor beams, blasters, light sabre, hundreds of space ships, droids, the death star, and of course, >c travel.
I don't know, Mozz, things like Voight-Kampff machines sound pretty much like magic to me. You need to move the plot forward so you invent something that does it.

The Martian looked good for proper science.
I have too many favourites to pick one: Alien, Aliens, Terminator 1 + 2, star trek (2009), star trek (wrath of Khan), Blade runner (original), Metropolis, Forbidden Planet, Starship Troopers, Independence day, Silent running....and many more.
Mozz,

Did you watch ‘The Mandalorian’ ?
I thought it was excellent.

They have just dropped Series 2 trailer.

Yes Mozz - you've reminded me about Leslie Nielsen.

And Pixie, I also saw Return to the Forbidden Planet, a couple of times. Great music.
It's a funny genre, I like the 'hard science fiction' where they try to imagine future technologies. I agree that 'spaceships' etc. don't necessarily mean science!

My favourites in no particular order: The Matrix, Interstellar, Sunshine, Westworld (Series), 12 Monkeys, Moon - but my top is Bladerunner (the original) - it's got it all in my opinion!
Ha ha TTT - Starship Troopers I'd forgotten about that one, a great fun watch.
probably "The Day The Earth Stood Still" - the 1950s version with Michael Rennie, not the Keanu Reeves fake version....
^^^ also made famous by rocky horror!
Sunk, yeah, Mando was fantastic. Looking forward to season two, but really hoping all the rumoured character guest slots do not take away from the centeral two characters.
Recent good sci-fi films.
- Interstellar
- Arrival
- The Martian
- Valerian and the City of a thousand stars

Avoid.
- AdAstra
- Blade Runner 2049

Looking forward to.
- Tenet
- Sputnik

I think Star Wars is sci fi fantasy, so in that case the original trilogy would be my favourites. The latter ones are a bit meh...
Sunk, I have to disagree with you about Blade Runner 2049. I thought it was great, and a worthy sequel to the original.
