I havent done a genealogical probate search for a while (I'm mainly back before 1858 so they are of little use - although any pre 1858 Prerogative Court of Canterbury Wills are still available free through Discovery at the National Archives). In July last year the Probate Search dropped their prices from £10 to £1.50. This was meant to last for 12 months, but still appears to be on offer.

Might be worth a little search whilst it lasts. I'm just stocking up on cheap Wills! I might as well get 10 for slightly more than I would have paid for one.

Here's a hint - if it says "Admin" dont bother, it's 1.50 wasted. If it says "Admin with Will" or "Probate" it might be worth a punt.

Happy hunting!
