Which famous cold case would you like to see solved?

Personally, I would like DNA from 2 sets of bones, discovered in the Tower of London in the 17th C, tested with the DNA of Richard III. If it is the Princes in the Tower, it may not solve who murdered them but it will prove that they were murdered. It may also solve the claims of Perkin Warbeck and Lambert Simnel.

I think I may have asked the same question a few years back but would be nice to hear from newer ABers interested in history.

Interesting, Jim. So is it fully confirmed? I may need to read the book.

Hopefully the Madeleine McCann case will be solved now they have identified a viable suspect.
I hope so, tiggs. I know it isn't "cold" exactly, but has been a very long time.
Lovely Jill Dando.
I wouldn't dream of spoiling it for you, Tiggs! But it's safe to say that the butler didn't do it..

That is definitely news.

I'd like to see Moors victim Keith Bennett's body found. Too late for his poor mum, but closure for his brother, Alan.
not exactly a cold case but they checked the DNA of the remains found in Dr Crippen's cellar a few years ago and it wasn't his wife after all, so he may well have been innocent.

Definitely some interesting cases here. I felt so sorry for Keith Bennett's mum, never knowing where he was buried. Very sad.
