My mother was born during WW 2 in Edinburgh and is half Asian - not sure who her father was but he was not Scottish!

Gurkha's are from Nepal so not classed as 'Asian '.
last time I looked Nepal was in Asia.

thank you, and yes Nepal is in South Asia. Do you have any idea where I would find out information or stories about the Ghurka base in Edinburgh?
a DNA test might just help narrow the options down. Presumably your mother never asked hers?
