just watching the film - and they say "two planeloads of european dignitaries" were among the 6000 people invited to watch it from the space centre, and it made me wonder who, if anyone went from the UK

Can't believe any Head of State went, because Richard Nixon watched from the White House and protocol would have demanded he attend if other Presid4ents or Royalty were there.

I would have guessed dignitaries would have meant ambassadors/charges d'affaires etc, not royalty per se.
