When I've heard this question before it's normally worded as most per mile (or KM) in which case it's the river Mersey.

surely the Thames?
Instinctive answer is Thames at 214(wikipedia) but Thames may be too obvious. It will be a long river so possibly Severn or Humber
I've checked and there are 214 bridges across the thamas but less than 50 across the severn.
hard to believe there are more than 214 across the Humber, either. But as scotman says, the Thames is far too obvious. Is there maybe a secret river nobody knows about?

Doesn't the Thames have 106 bridges but 214 crossings?
