one of my ancesters has a grave symbol, it has on it a snake in a S shape curling around three bars. I know that the snake refers to eternity but have no reference to the bars?

I have no answer for you but suggest putting this in genealogy as others who have ersearched family/visited graves etc may be able to help you more.

The only thing that springs to mind is The rod of Asclepius, Asclepius being an early Greek practitioner. That would only have had one bar however.

It will simply mean 'everlasting life on heaven' mac. The bars will be the pearly gates
