As petal says you could ask, or a copy of her marriage certificate will provide the information.

Her maiden name will appear on any birth certificate for any of her children, if she did not have any children and you cannot find her marriage, did she have any brothers or sisters? If so then seeing if you can make contact with their side of the family might help.
