Looking for a cousin in USA

Which would be the best website to try and locate a long lost cousin American with a fairly common name (Ross) ? I have tried Friends Reunited but they don't seem to cover USA. I have his mother, father, paternal grandfther names. Mother and grandfather were from London and father from New York, where they lived. He was born around 1940-ish and lived in New York at least for his first 20 years. Many thanks.

Try looking for deaths of parents on the SSDI
http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi .cgi and go from there
