My Mother would like to find out about my Grandfathers WW1 war record. She has no record of what regiment He was in, although She knows He was gassed in France. Is there an online site that would have military details like that? Thanks in advance

Did he die?
If he did try here:

If he didnt try here:

You may struggle if you dont know his regiment but i'm sure you have his full name so you take it from there.
Good luck!
If you still have his service medals his service number will be engraved around the rim of the medal/ You can check the discharged to reserve records at Kew if he was not killed in action, he may well have been still in the reserves into the late 1920s.

Thanks Gary and Dot for the info, I'll pass it on to mum. Nothing is really known about his war experiences as he was stricken with poor health after the war and died in the 1930s when my mum was a small girl. Anyway at least she has somewhere to start looking now.
