Good luck. Hope the certificate helps. I know how frustrating it can be. It sometimes helps to have a fresh pair of eyes looking at it. I kept hitting a brick wall with one branch on my tree and asked a fellow researcher and very distant cousin to help. She found her in no time at all - living in a neighbouring town with the man who'd been described as 'lodger' on the...

I've had a very quick look but can only find the information that you already have. I think the only other way to find out would be to see if someone visiting the Yorkshire record office would very kindly look for you, assuming that they have the parish record on microfilm.
From your previous post her place of birth is in doubt. Just checked births but can't find one in Yorkshire in 1894 so can't work it out that way. I think you're going to have to get the marriage certificate and hope that she's been truthful when giving family details. Unless of course someone else can find her in the records.

Thank you for your answer, knittynora. I think I will have to eventually send for the marriage certificate as apart from the place they are in on census, everything else seems to match. I dont know of anyone who can go to records office for me, I just thought some other researchers on here may have records of that area available on CD as I do with some areas. I think Minnie died and buried in Mexborough (cemetary near hospital ?) I doubt it would say anything on her gravestone (if she had one) that would help. Thanks again x
I don't know Yorkshire - is it possible Minnie was born in North Duffield and registered in Mexborough? If she was younger than Tom and Emmie they may well have been off with their own families by 1911.

sorry just looked at 1911 census again and that Minnie was an only child and the only child born to that couple.
I've had another look for Minnie. The births for the other family members on the 1901census are on lancashirebmd.org.uk but unfortunately doesn't state mother's maiden name. Arthur V (Vernon) on the census married in Chorlton in 1921 suggesting that this family maybe stayed in the Manchester area.
There's a baptism record for Robert C Yates

Baptism: 11 May 1881 St Bartholomew, Salford, Lancashire, England
Robert Cobbett Yates - [Child] of George Edward Yates & Charlotte
Born: 25 Mar 1881
Abode: 1 Dailey Street
Occupation: Cricket Bat Maker
Baptised by: G. W. Petherick
Register: Baptisms 1879 - 1881, Page 185, Entry 1480

I looked for a possible marriage. Nothing on Lancashire parish clerks but there is a marriage on freebmd

Marriages Jun 1880

Tudman Charlotte Ellesmere 6a 1259
Yates George Edward Ellesmere 6a 1259

This doesn't help you at all with Minnie but does show that the family on the census has moved around in the past so could reasonably have moved to Doncaster at some point.

Thanks for all your hard work. Ive looked at every angle of this and cant make head or tails of it. Ive had to send for the marriage cert and hope it will show her father on it. Will let you know what I find out. Thanks again x

I kept hitting a brick wall with one branch on my tree and asked a fellow researcher and very distant cousin to help. She found her in no time at all - living in a neighbouring town with the man who'd been described as 'lodger' on the previous census! I would still have been looking for her.

Thanks. Im hitting brick walls all the time but I dont give up easily !! It certainly does pay to have a fresh pair of eyes sometimes. Ive just helped a friend who couldnt find any further back than 1871 and I found it in no time. Thanks again x
If you haven't sent for the marriage certificate yet then don't as it is on ancestry, if that is the tree you're working on then you've already got it! lol
