A friend was playing darts the other night, his opponent was on a 48 shot out, he hit a 16 then hit the double 16, not realising he had hit it, then threw his last dart at the 19. Does he win the game because he hit the double, or does he bust because he threw his last dart??? Oh dont have a clue why the chalker didnt tell him!!

I have never seen anyone throw their last dart after hitting the double, not even on the telly, so if anyone could enlighten me.

Cheers!!

He had reached the required score, so anything after that doesn't count.
It's like when a cricketer catches a ball. They often throw it up in the air again in celebration and occasionally miss but the batter is still out.
