Question speaks for itself really............want to get my daughter a PS3. She already has a PS2, loads of games, does the PS3 support them? She can play PS1 games on her PS2, so hoping Sony have made PS3 compatible with PS2 games.

The newer model PS3's are NOT backwards compatible, the older ones were but can really only be bought second hand now.

Thank you for that. Is there not any way around it other than getting a second hand one? Or would she need both a PS2 & PS3? Or maybe her PS2 & an Xbox??
If you have the PS2 anyway i cant see the problem. you could buy an x-box if you like, or a ps3. it comes down to game realeases for that choise, though either way you will have 2 consoles there.
