The oldies have both gone and spent their pensions on Nintendo DS Lites for themselves this xmas.. and so I thought I might get them each a game or recipe programme.
Can I buy the Nintendo DS games or are those not compatible with the DS Lite????? (I have no idea what the difference - if you can explain that would be great!).
Also - can anyone recommend any games? Think they have the brain training one already!
THANKS

I think the DS and the DS LIte cartridges are different shapes and sizes, but the DS Lite has two slots allowing it to accept either type. I've only ever played the "Brain Training" type games and so only ever tried the later (smaller?) DS Lite cartridges.

As to games there is Big Brain Academy, Sight Training, Brain Training II and Picross all of which I've tried and enjoyed. Sight Training is my current favourite out of these. Of the older type games, when my kids were younger Super Mario was all the rage and I never did adjust to the Nintendo console pad. I was a mouse/ keyboard PC gamer (if at all) and was regularly beaten at anything I tried that started with the word Nintendo. Maybe I should have a secret try at Super Mario Kart after all these years and see what I've been missing?
hi you can get a adapter to you can put games on it holds up 70 plus it an r4ds just google it there a bout 10 to 20 think one games costs that you can download games to from the net to hope this helps
Hi
Apparently, according to my 11 yr old ds and ds lite games are the same as each other. Hope that helps.
Hi. basically the DS Lite is just a new version of the original DS, which is a bit smaller. The games and console are exactly the same.

So you can buy the game for either :)
Some of the confusiion on here is that the DS also contains a slot to play Game Boy Advanced games, which is an older console.

So to sum up. The DS Lite has the same games as the DS :)
The Eclipse you are partially correct but not completely.

Both the DS original and the LITE are exactly the same except the size different of course and not to mention the LITE has the brightness adjustability. The DS original if FULLY backwards compatable meaning it can play not only the Gamboy Advance games it can also play the original Gameboy games. The LITE can play Gameboy Advance games but not the Gameboy original.

You're better off getting the LITE because the brightness is perfect on that, the original DS is too dark!!

Oh and by the way just to annoy some of you.... there's a new DS soon with a camera built in the console!! Curse Nintendo!!!!
