This is the recipe from the seasoning package:
1 package of McCormick Seasoning for slow cookers pulled pork(not sure if you can get that over there)
3 lb boneless pork shoulder
1/2 c of ketchup
1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 c cider vinegar

cook on low for 8 hrs or high for 4 hrs.

This made enough for the 2 of us and we froze plenty.
We put it on toasted hero rolls and had salad and baked potato.

It was very good, it did not yield a lot of "gravy" though.

ooooo....thanks ET...I will have to give that a go-it sounds yummy.
I can't get McCormick seasoning though...can you tell me what the ingredients are (approximately...lol)

Not my recipe, my sis cooks more than I do. LOL

here are the ingredients off the pouch:
brown sugar
salt
spices including: red pepper, garlic, onion, tomato, sunfloweroil,
extractives of: paprika
natural honey smoke flavor

the whole pouch is 1.6 oz of dry mix,

I will look for a link-maybe you can find something comprable
It sounds very nice EngTeach - can you direct us to a link for the pouch, we might recognise the packaging?
nahhhhh,ET....I'll do it myself...I've loads of spices...it will be fun to experiment.

It sounds more exotic with 2 Us! I won't do my own, I don't have all the constituent parts, I'd rather buy a packet. Moi - domestic goddess? - Non!

It was very good and smelled heavenly all day!
Except you didn't tell them how to pull it Eng Teach... having lived in the southern states during growing up years, everyone had their own recipe for seasoning, but they all centered on brown sugar or black strap molasses and plenty of different peppers... paprika, black pepper, some chili pepper, ketchup and of course apple cider vinegar. After the shoulder is so done it's falling off the bone, take two largish forks... the serving kind works best and, holding the shoulder with one, pull strands of the pork off. It should be fairly coarse but still in strands. Mix more of the seasoning on and serve on toasted onion buns... they are like large hamburger buns with dried onions on the top.
The sides are barbecue beans and of course, potato salad. When making the potato salad, try coarsely chopping some dill pickles and the add about a quarter cup of pickle juice (as well as the mayo and mustard and onions)...

The meat was so soft it sort of "pulled" itself as we scooped it from the slowcooker. The sides you listed sound delicious. This was a first try of the recipe.

Oh my...Clanad's description has made me even more eager to try this. Think I will make it this weekend when my daughter is here.......yummmmmm
I presume you are going out to kill a pig first Pasta. And I hope you will serve it with hand cut, perfectly proportioned chips from home grown potatoes from your own allotment and tender baby peas garnished with the best organic butter.
Ooohhhh...definitely lottie!!.......maybe I shall take over the crown.........heeheee
