i used to have a rather expensive but worth every penny combination microwave that could be used as an ordinary microwave, or an ordinary oven, or combining the two (for fast roast chicken and fast crispy baked potato) Is this what you mean?
sadly i left it in my previous home and 3 years later still regret not getting another.
it was a panasonic, 2 level combination oven, it took up quite a lot of worksurface though

Thanks very much for your reply tracyjo,I got a Panasonic only yesterday, and been out for a round baking dish this morning, keep trying different things and reading the instructions,I think I can apply for a pilots licence when I've learned it all.
ive got a panasonic it has a shelf just like an oven, no turntable -as a microwave you just put food on the bottom of the oven. it is brilliant, like they have in restaurants im told. does a wonderful whole roast crispy chicken in 40 mins! has 2 shelves for cake making etc. best purchase ever. oh it has an inverter if you know what that means.
