Hello,
My family have decicided they'd prefer apple pie instead of Christmas Pud. However I'd still like my traditional pud.
I don't want to buy individual ones as the ones I've tasted are sickeningly sweet (to me) as I don't put any sugar in mine at all. I prefer fruit stuck together with flour & egg.
I've never made individual ones before and I wondered how long to steam a couple of dinky ones the size of ramekins.
May I have asome advice please?

http://www.weepud.com/ might be the answer if you don't fancy making just the one, but the cooking time for a single pudding woud be 1 to 1 1/2 hrs in a bain marie. To test if it is ready stick a metal skewer into the pudding - if it comes out clean it is ready for the table...

There are old recipes about for Christmas puddings using breadcrumbs or cake crumbs in place of flour which might be of interest to you too as an alternative - these tend to be a lot lighter as a result - think simple steamed pudding style instead of a heavy pudding.
