any veg can be steamed if you can wait long enough....a microwave does the same job faster
To the best of my knowledge, prawns are always cooked before freezing, so you only need to steam them long enough to defrost them (or a bit longer if you want them hot). A bit of trial and error with steaming them could prove worthwhile but, given that you only need to run cold water over them for a few minutes to defrost them ( https://www.ocado.com/webshop/product/Youngs-Cooked--Peeled-King-Prawns-Frozen/59541011 ), it would seem easiest just to do that anyway.

This should help with the veg:

Cauli is a favourite at this time of year and swede cooked in the microwave

I suppose I've fallen into a rut where veg are concerned, any two(or three) from four has been the order of the day. Fennel, cauli, and kale, might add a bit of variety.
Chris, you can get frozen raw prawns, they are the bigger ones and look grey in the packet, not pink.
Prawns, that well known vegetable :-)

I've only evey done root veg as far as I can recall. My women has been more adventurous and done other veg, like leaves. Would be interested to hear how you get on with your steamed animal plan.
I hope the streaming's a bit better than I get on my PC ;-)
Mange tout, sugar snaps, all the beans, kale, cabbage, purple sprouting broccoli, anything really.

The father's of the church in the olden day deemed the Barnacle Goose to be a fishy creature in order to get round the ban on eating meat on a Friday. If I categorised prawns in a similar way I could claim to be a vegetarian. :-
