I read a lot of posters who use their food processors for pastry and perhaps various recipes.

All I have ever used mine for is cutting up the vegetables for making homemade soup.

This could be a never ending list but could give me a nice and safe recipe for making shortcrust pastry and any other things that the processor could be used for . Thanks for any answers.

In my instruction book that came with my food processor there were loads of recipes basic ones to help you get the best from the processor.
I have a cookery book by Michael Barry (used to be on the Food and Drink programme years ago) which is full of recipes to use. I can give you details of the book if you like, and Nigella Lawson often uses a food processor for some of her recipes
Same here Connemmara, have only used for cutting up the veggies for soup. When I bought it I was full of ambition. Dont even know what all the attachments are for. Oh, also use to make bread crumbs.
They are brilliant for pastry making. I could never make pastry before. Just user your usual recipe and pop the margerine and flour into the food processor. Hey Presto, 1-2 mins later, all rubbed in and ready for liquid.
But the process of rubbing fat into flour is so soothing.
I make all my shortcrust pastry in my Kenwood FP: For 300g I use 200g plain flour pinch salt 50g lard cut in small cubes and 50g butter cubed "pulse" them in the FP and then turn on at full speed slowly adding water until it combines into 1 lump of dough. Remove dough to bowl cover and put in fridge for half hour then roll out on floured surface. If your making a sweet as opposed to savoury dish add sugar instead of salt.
