After 1 hour...black.....

Really-whether you are talking about a whole fish or fillets-10 to 15 minutes would be plenty.
One hour?

As PF states, 10 to 12 minutes is about right for grilling. Even better, use a sharp knife to put a few slits in the skin, on both sides of the fish. Them microwave it for 2 to 2½ minutes. (Microwaving is the best way to cook trout).
Maybe WShee9 is busy getting the smoke out of his kitchen........ ;-0

No,her kitchen....just a fillet of trout grilled on a very low heat for one hour?
it should be pink...and again-that's way too long, low heat or not. It will most likely be dried out.
Grilling is always done at a fairly high heat-that's the point.....hot and fast. Even if you were to bake it,the time needed would only be 5-10 minutes more.
Must be a huge trout to need grilling for an hour! Even on a low heat. Thats the good thing about fish, it cooks very quickly, (but also dries out if you cook it too long)

No , it was quite moist...I grilled it in tinfoil....it came out a sickly white colour...i ate it and now wish i hadnt...?
Snap Pasta! Cross posted there!
Not for an hour!
I microwave it the same on Buenchico does, but I do put a tablespoon on water in the dish and cover it with clingfilm.
If you want to know what a grilled trout should look like then see ttfn's latest avatar.
LOL mike (though I'd say it was more steamed)

Ena has a sense of humour and I am sure will take no offence, otherwise I am barred from the Rovers.

errr....hope im not getting in the way here...i just thought i would ask ....
Maybe it depends on the type of trout.....some fillets look paler than others.
was it the actual trout that was a sickly white colour, or was it because you'd cooked it so slowly that the white stuff had come out of it, as it can with fish at the start of cooking?
That's a thought,slinky.
