We are now unable to cook for ourselves, so have been having Wiltshire Farm Foods dekivered. Have also tried Oakhouse, but not so good. Very bland and the veg are not nice. Does anone know of any other tried and tested companies?

'Google' 'Home delivered ready meals UK only' and take your pick.
Meanwhile, somebody told me this company was very good, even getting deliveries through during very bad snow. Link below

t,,hanks merciasounds have already googled and tried countryhomefoods but do not deliver in this areaN.W Kent/S.E.London
They should be soon, our friend said the chicken and the pork meals were excellent, and so were the 'old favourites' like lambs liver and onions, cottage pie, and the roast dinners
mrs. murphy, have you considered going on-line on the major supermarkets websites and having a look at their ready meals too and getting them delivered?
I sometimes order the Wiltshire Farm foods and they are consistently good. Our local authority use this company for their 'meals on wheels' service.

As ethandron says you could do a grocery shop on-line at Tesco, Asda etc.
Shops like Tesco and Iceland do very nice lines in ready-meals which are either chilled or frozen - you could order a supply and take one out each day ready to cook direct from frozen. No waste, not much washing up either!

iceland meals are really good and reasonable too, but they have to be picked out in store, impossible for us housebound souls!
waitrose deliver through ocado and their ready meals are very good indeed. Have you tried the birdseye frozen ready meals, they are greatly improved and I quite often have those.
What can you do in the way of food preparation? If you have a microwave or use an oven, many veg can be prepared that could be added to a frozen main.
Woofgang, I use the microwave to cook everything, even made cake and bread in it.
that's why I asked the question....maybe we can help the murpheys to do a bit more with what they have

we already cook extra vegetables, just cannot stand for preparation. Make own bread in breadmaker and use a Hotcup for drinks as cannot lift heavy kettle etc. We hate this old age! Can still have a laugh though!
Then I reckon your best bet for variety is supermarket home delivery.
get a barstool for preparing veg
