I quite agree hc, they are superior - and their tomato ketchup...yum !
Lidl.
Teso value. Not as sweet as Heinz
Branston - they're delicious.
I am not a baked bean fan....but Heinz if I get a craving.
Heinz and only Heinz.

I confess I hadn't had baked beans for about a year and then ate two tins yesterday!!
And only Heinz ketchup as well. No other will do!!
I got a craving, Pasta :o)
Crosse + Blackwell used to do a nice baked bean. Haven't seen any for a while, though.
Usually Heinz everything, soup, beans, Tom sauce and salad cream.
Not fond of Heinze at all... I like shops own brands. Reduced salt too.

Ha, SandyRoe, a friend of mine bought round a can of Crosse & Blackwell beans, complaining she could not eat them as they were hard as bullets ! She tried to palm them off on me, but I wasnt having any of it....hahaha
erm....did ya pay the price for eating 2 tins,lofty...????

lol
Funnily enough I didn't Pasta ;o). I really did have a craving and after the first tin on some toast I just had to have another!!
Some own brand tins of beans are all sauce with about two beans!!
any, really if they are from a can...i'm not that fussy. However, I make me own - boston style baked beans. luckin fush!

turn the oven to 150 degrees, get a big casserole pot and...

fry 4 slices of cubed belly pork with an onion and garlic (and salt and pepper)

add to:
1 can butter beans
1 can kidney beans
1 can pinto beans (any beans, actually)

the sauce: (roughly measured for your own taste - this is truly a bung it in and see recipe)
1 pint beef stock (I use 2 cubes)
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons tomato puree
2 massive dollops of black treacle
1 massive teaspoon of mustard
chillies - if you like spice

bung in the oven and wait for 4-5 hours, taking the top off and stirring once!!!!!

add 1/2 baked rolls to the oven for 10 mins @ 220 degrees and proceed to stuff face

you haven't lived until you have eaten these beans........x
I like them cold straight out of the tin. Lovely.
Never had that experience Lofty, I'd cry! I like tescos or sainsburys own, I find the heinz range too sweet really..... Although I guess they're probably all more or less the same thing.
