oh yes vesta lol.. no wonder only windows vista adds came up when i tried to google them! .. dohhhhh! lol

oooh asda sell them do they? hmmmm, i might have to try one then.
Oh Vesta paella is a secret vice of mine. If the OH is away for the day I usually have one and buy extra prawns to add at the end. The OH hates them.

You usually cook Vesta products in a frying pan, adding water and simmering for several minutes. I used to like the crispy noodles with the curry as well.
I think I was brought up on Vesta meals - curry and chow mein. Also Duo-cans, curry in one end and rice in the other. My mother had no interest in cooking.

ive just had a look online and they cost around £1.57 each,
im def going to have a trip down memory lane and get one - beef curry and rice is the one i remember having.
I loved vesta when I lived on my own - I find them a bit bland now, but still a quick meal solution!
Question Author
hmm, im looking forward to trying one again now - i wonder if i will be disappointed though, as i can never get a ready made shop bought curry that i like.
for me, its got to be the real thing from or at my favourite little indian restaurant that i go to, or nothing! - so itll be interesting to see what i think of these vesta ones! ;o)
chances are if they contained MSG they would have removed it by now so it would probably not taste how you remember it.
Question Author
aww really cazzz? thats a shame then.

whats msg?
monosodium glutamate, a flavour enhancer. they have removed it from most popular ready meals now, notably pot noodles who have suffered as a result in the loss of "flavour"
I was looking at some today in our local Poundstretcher. Used to love them when I lived alone in a flat (couldn't be ar$ed to cook for myself).
Question Author
oh they sell them in there too do they mrs chap? i will have a look in the one in town then.

lol, youre probably right there butch!

i was only young when i had them, i didnt know any better, it was before i got introduced to the real thing butch!!

im out for a real one on tuesday night, and i cant blummin wait!
my mouths watering already just at the thought ;o) hmmmmmmmmmm luvvly jubbly.
Yuk!!

Those and fray bentos pies bring back horrible memories!
My local Poundland does the Paella, and sometimes the curries.
I was looking at them the other day in Poundstretcher - couldn't bring myself to actually buy one though.
Used to love the Fray Bentos pies in a tin too. When my husband and I were poor students one of them followed by a lemon Hot Crunch Pudding was a slap up meal.
Fray Bentos steak and kidney pies used to be delicious. I don't know what they've done to them but they're not a patch on what they were - rather tasteless the last one I had - expensive too.
My daughter loves burnt Vesta Paella.........so it's brown and hard on one side :-(
Lemon Hot Crunch pudding, yingyang - wow, I'd forgotten about them!
