Hi slinky its delicious have you beer in your recipe?
wait for boxy kate - I am sure she will be along in a minute with her tried and tested recipe (;-))
Isn't it just cheese on toast?
No boo,its made in a saucepan then spread over the bread and grilled
in our house its cheese sauce with mustard, on toast, B00
another variation is to grate the cheese, stir in some Hellmans and then spread over the toast to finish off under the grill
I'm gonna stop answering kate's questions, that's two i've ballsed up in as many minutes :-(

dont you worry boo,you remind me of me,lol.
Asking how to make Welsh Rarebit (which I assume is the purpose of your post) is a bit like asking how to make a curry! Which version do you want? There are hundreds of them! For me, any decent Welsh Rarebit needs to contain beer (but not all recipes include it).

This recipe looks good to me:

Here's a variation:

Not really, beer gives a nice flavour
ive never had beer or eggs in welsh rarebit
Question Author
chris the cheesy society one looks lovely, looks like i'll have to pinch a bottle of beer.
do you thing margarine will do instead of butter????
Any 'spread' which says, on the packaging, that it's suitable for cooking should do. (I've not tried it with Welsh Rarebit but I've often substituted olive oil for butter in recipes, with good results!).
You could always just drink the beer and eat cheese on toast I suppose.

Have some cake B00 and cheer up (;-))
Question Author
good idea ttfn.
I just have cheesy toast with worcester sauce.
The other one sounds like eggy bread -the one you do in the saucepan.
Question Author
naw dris, not french toast, its the real mccoy i want
I have never seen egg either...but I suspect the purpose of it is to cause the mixture to souffle or puff up.
Question Author
oh i just remembered she put cornflour in it to thicken it
