Sad I Know, but I love Favorite Fried Chicken's BBQ Spare Ribs, they obviously do something to them that nobody else does!

I tried ordrering a box of them, and asked how they prepare them but the deflected me with a 'no can do' answer.

Without risking a libel suit here, I appreciate these places don't often get the best cuts of meat, and if they are pork ribs, I'm guesing they can't be halal, but apart from being poorer cuts of meat, the devil is obviously in the ingredient, the BBQ sauce - it makes them sticky and irresistible!

How do I make something very, very similar please, please!

for about 3lb of ribs: Recipe 1

2 cups of tomato ketchup
1/2 tube tom puree
2 tablespoons soy sauce
two cloves garlic, grated
1 inch piece of ginger, grated
1 cup honey
1-2 tablespoons of BBQ spice

Mix all the above together. Boil ribs first for 15 mins, straining off scum that rises. drain and rest on kitchen paper to dry.
put in roasting pan, cover both sides with sauce, leaving a little back to baste with

Cook in oven or on BBQ for about 30 mins, brushing with extra sauce and turning often.
Recipe 2 - with alcohol!

I will say 'measures' you can use an old tea cup, an egg cup, a mug, for how ever much you want to make it's a matter of ratio!

2 measures tom ketchup (I'm using an old teacup here)
1/2 tube tom puree
I large onion chopped fine and 2 fat cloves garlic, crushed (sautee in a little oil until soft)
1/2 measure of soft brown sugar
1/3 measure balsamic or ordinary vinegar/cider vinegar, whatever
1-1and a half cups Jack Daniels
1 tablespoon BBQ spice
worcester sauce - whaddya mean how much - told you....about.....that much! Oh alright, a couple of tablespoonsful
1/2 a measure of molasses or black treacle
Basic BBQ sauce mix...

2 parts tomato ketchup
1 part soy sauce
1 part soft brown sugar
1 part honey or golden syrup.

Then you can add bits too it.....

grated ginger
lime juice
Chinese 5 spice

Or it's just as nice as it is.
