I have just found a recipe which uses GRATED mozzarella. How can you GRATE such a soft cheese? I often use it but slice it. Is there a hard version of this cheese?

how the heck can you grate it? although i think i have seen packets of it . . . . .
It sometimes comes in two versions.....in water, or as a shrink-wrapped block. That's the one you want, as it's dry-ish. Try putting it in the freezer for 30 minutes before you grate it.

Yes, exactly mollykins and thank you pasta I didn't realise a shrink-wrapped version existed but will put it into the freezer.
We use a rotary grater and the mozzarella ball grates fine in that
