I know Mccfluff won't like the beautiful best minced steak lasagne I've made using a tomato sauce made with tomatoes from my own greenhouse (bottled last year) I roasted them with a drop of best olive oil, then pulped them down and cooked them with onions, garlic, red wine and fresh basil and oregano. Layered with fresh homemade pasta sheets, and a creamy bechamel sauce, covered with a thick layer of four grated cheeses, baked until golden, served with garlic bread (homemade of course, and a crisp garden salad.

OR

I've been making sausages, There is: Pork with, sweet chili and garlic, pork with smoked bacon and garlic, pork with chestnuts, pork with sage and apples, OR Lamb with rosemary and soft apricots, lamb with cinnamon and prunes, beef with guinness and mushrooms, beef with curry spices. You could have any of those with creamy mash and onion gravy, and greens

OR

A homecured gammon steak, with pineapple or fried egg, new potatoes and salad or vegetables

Puddings are: Raspberry and coconut sponge with velvety smooth custard, fresh fruit flan with whipped cream, or Lemon and lime meringue pie

let me know what you want!!

You can BOO, hand cut - do you like thick or thin chips - I use Maris Piper potatoes, and I always cok them twice so they are soft and fluffy on the inside, and crispy and golden on the outside (cooked in rapeseed oil - flavour less and good for you!)
Lasange with sponge and custard for me please (though it all sounds georgeous)
I prefer french fries- thin and crispy :-)

Redcrx - the sausage making took about three hours yesterday afternoon, start to finish. I make sponge cakes in various sizes and freeze them so I only have to 'top' or sandwich them together for puds, so it's just a matter of taking them out of the freezer, the lasagne took me about an hour this morning, but I did make the pasta dough yesterday, i just put it through the pasta machine this morning. I made the pastry from scratch this morning for the lemon and lime meringue pie, and the filling and topping - about half an hour while the meat for the lasagne was cooking....and a gammon steak only has to be snipped around the edge to stop it curling up - washing and preparing a salad and dressing - 20 mins? I've also made three loaves and some soup and sandwiches for lunch. I've been sitting at the computer for an hour too, so it's not too bad - besides, i LOVE cooking!!
I love cooking also......earn my keep doing it 3 days per week. But I would never want to spend as much time as you do.
I dread to think how much mercia spends on ingredients.
I gather a lot is home-produced.....but even that takes time. I hope she doesn't tell us she also works outside the home 20 hours per week....'-(
i've just been told in no in certain terms that i can go and get my "own bloody homemade sausages"
