The winner was Glynn Purnell which I was very pleased about as (1) his menu was what I would have preferred if I was returning home after a long time abroad (2) the attitude of Daniel Clifford was that he thought he would win as he is a 2-star Michelin chef up against someone who is a really good chef but not of his standard (3) Daniel Cliffords menu and food was not 'homely' enough for someone returning home which is the aim of this seriest. I enjoyed the weeks' viewing and look forward to the rest of the series.

Well said Osprey, I agree with you. I'm looking forward to the rest of it too, and I don't know about you but the fact that they will be cooking for our brave and, in my opinion heroic troops, adds to the enjoyment no end. Nothing wrong with catering for French dignitaries, but you get my point. Don't ya ?
Hear hear, Glynn's menu was a lot more ' central England' - and a lot nearer most of the troops expectations - IMHO
Glad glynn won also, such a down to earth guy,the other guy was a pompous arse, dont like the format of the prog this year, waiting to the end till the judges make there comments,it strung out alot to get 30mins worth of telly!!
