any suggestions for nice decent topping for lovely carrot cake??? I can make the cake no problem, but the topping still baffles me. Suggestions appreciated, thanks.

Its usually buttercream a mixture of butter/marg icing sugar and a tad orange juice beaten then spread on cake!!!
Nice made with cream cheese instead of butter, too. Makes it very tangy.
I always use Philladelphia whipped up with a little icing sugar to taste and some orange zest...mmmmmmm....I'm on a diet....hmph

I always use 7oz cream cheese, 2oz of unsalted butter & 2oz of icing sugar. Just make sure the butter is room temperature or else it will be lumpy.

appreciate the tip about butter being at room temp - had that problem previously with lumpy frosting on cake, so thanks to you all for the tips!
