They were featured on watchdog as they went up in smoke!!!!

You have been warned!
Would love one,be wont pay the price for it,though i have noticed the price is starting to drop!!!
Hi LaughingGirl. I have had an Actifry for approx 6 months. When I first got it, I used it a lot for making homemade chips and some of the suggested recipes in the book that comes with it. The chips are great from it - they taste very potato-y, however I dont use it much any more.
The price tag of approx 150 is hard to justify in my opinion.
They were featured on watchdog and got a poor review. I bought one last year and they do what they say in that they cook with very little oil and chips are good. I've cooked chops sausages (no added oil needed) all very tasty. I've a few issues as in the timer alarm is extreemly quiet. They take up a lot of room on the work top. I paid 103 from comet on line for mine. If mine broke i'm not sure I would replace it.
If mine broke I would definitely replace it. I have a fear of deep fat fryers mixed with little kids and hate oven chips. We like a balanced diet in our family, and I now feel much happier feeding my family chips cooked in this. No smell, hardly any fat, real potatoes. I don't find the timer too quiet. It does take a little longer to cook them, and you can only just feed a family of four, but that said, I just make sure there are other things on the plate too, e.g. more veg than before. I have tried scampi, roast potatoes, roast parsnips (handy on Xmas day when the oven was full), but have not yet tried a stir fry. I do think it is over priced though. Maybe Ar gos will have it on offer soon, I notice their price is quite high at the mo, maybe it is going to come down in their next sale!
