I have guests coming for a couple of weeks and they love spicy indian food. Can anybody give me an easy enough recipe, (without using processed foods hence sauces in jars etc). TIA

Without knowing what sort of dishes (veggie, meat, fish etc) you want to make, I only recommend you have a peek at this brilliant website:-

When serving up indian food, I always make lots of different dishes - that way everyone gets a good choice and if there's something they don't like, it's not the end of the world ! For my last dinner party, I served up:-

Starter:- Mixed veg pakora, onion bahjees and veg samosas on a bed of shredded lettuce, pak choi & mouli with wedges of lime and lemon.

Main:- Potato and Pepper curry, pea & carrot in ginger, celery & okra sambal, chick pea curry, lentil dahl, pilau rice and home made naan breads

Dessert:- Exotic fruit salad

If you want to make an authentic curry the easy way try Fiddes & Payne curry spices. They're sold in tins in the larger Tesco stores - so far I've tried the Madras and Korma - both yummy and they also do a Jalfrezi. Just follow the instructions on the tin.
