This very basic one has worked well for us for years:

1 lb. ground beef or turkey (lower fat ground beef)
1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
1 medium diced onion
1 smaller diced green pepper
1 egg
1/4 cup catsup
3 Tbs. mustard
1 Tbs. prepared horseradish
salt and pepper to taste (about 1 tsp. and 1/4 tsp. respectively to start with)

Mix together. Put in a loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-60 minutes.
For something different, try placing about 1/2 cup of the mixture in each of the "wells" of a greased muffin pan for individual servings (It should be mounded up). Our family enjoys that... the baking time is about the same, but keep an eye on it. The temperature conversion appears to be 350 degrees F = 180 degrees C or Gas mark 4 (since we are in the U.S.)

well he is not my favorite singer but that just a bit too cruel!!

I'm sorry I couldn't resist :)
