I seem to like the following 3 types of wine consistently:
Malbec, Tempranillo/Rioja, Pinot Noir.

Please can anyone recommend some new wines for me to try or some
specific examples of wines I can get with the above grapes.....
Need to be available in supermarkets please!....

Try a nice Burgundy pinot noir... something like Beaune Blason de Bourgogne, Santenay 1er Cru Clos Rousseau Antonin Rodet, or Pommard les Cras. They're all available from Tesco. I've nothing against new world wines, but when it comes to pinot noir there's nothing else to touch Burgundy!

Bottoms up!

Tesco's finest Malbec is lovely. Well received by all types of palettes ... mmm might open a bottle now .

MARQUES DE LA CONCORDIA do a lovely Rioja ... sometimes on offer in Majestic ... remember they have a twelve bottle minimum ... but this is worth the extra couple of quid per bottle imho.

What is your budget a bottle? That makes a huge a difference, to the Pinot recommended choice.

Try this Chilean red - not as oaky/tannic as Rioja but very good for quaffing! It's called Chileno Shiraz Cabernet and you can get it from Waitrose. I don't know the single bottle price because we buy it in 3 litre boxes(!) but I think it's about 4.99
We adore the McGuigan (Australian) range of wines - red and white are superb - no supermarket seem to stock the complete range so you have to hunt around, but we have bought some in Tesco.
