If you want your preserving pan for making jams and marmalades and only want to make a small quantity at a time, it will be much cheaper to make them in the microwave using a very high sided Pyrex glass bowl. The microwave method also means that you don't have to stir your preserves constantly once sugar has been added, as it won't burn the bottom of the dish in a microwave, as it does on the hob. If you still want a preserving pan, a good hardware store like Robert Dyas might have them, or the kitchenware dept of Debenhams./John Lewis. Don't know if they have a website where you can purchase online - worth checking.
I got a cheap one at TK Maxx's home store
