Pargassius fish

My mum says she ate this fish in Germany recently. Now, she speaks German, but she's never heard of this, and her German friends didn't know if there's an English equivalent. i've tried Google, with no success. Can anyone help to identify it, please?

Maybe your Mum meant this
Pangassius is a large.....very very large tropical catfish which lives in big, strong flowing rivers in Asia.

They can be bought as small, 3" specimens in the UK and kept happily in larger tropical aquariums.
