How long can I keep my turkey without cooking it?

On Friday I get a free frozen turkey from work but I'm going away for Christmas so will not be using it for Christmas Day.
Will it be ok to cook on Wednesday?

can't you stick it in the freezer?


failing that, the fridge ... it'll defrost but will be fine to cook on Wednesday ...

We wanted to cook it Wednesday, but as we don't get back until Tuesday night it won't have defrosted in time.

Will have to find room in fridge.

Fridge will be fine ... it'll probably take a couple of days to properly defrost in the fridge anyway.

In the fridge from Friday to Wednesday should be fine.
