is it true that you are not supposed to fry with extra virgin olive oil?

its fine to fry with....it has a flavour which will be transferred to the food. I always cook with it becuase i like the flavour.
But you shouldn't fry at high temperature as it ruins the flavour.
Olive oil has a high smoke point, 410 degrees F, and doesn't degrade as quickly as many other oils do with repeated high heating.
Don't fry with extra virgin - just use the normal stuff - extra virgin on salads.
Not many people cook with extra virgin,i think it leaves a bad taste,but not sure,plus its expensive,because its the 1st press...so use as dressing...ordinary olive oils fine for ya cookin'
Although you can fry with extra virgin olive oil the consensus of opinion seems to be that this is a waste. Extra virgin olive oil is more expensive and heating it will reduce its healthy properties.
