Since when did chomp bars cost 15p? I think it is a disgrace, the whole point of the chomp is that it was only 10p. Now don't get me wrong, I love chomps, but in the balance of things i don't think they should have put the price up. I appreciate that with inflation things change, but i would rather they make the bar smaller and leave it at 10p.

Whilst growing up they were always 10p, even when it seemed the bigger chocolate bars, eg Mars, seemed to be more expensive everytime you would buy one.

The humble, but delicious chomp, retailing at 10p felt like one of the corner stones of the economy (certainly was on of mine).

I'm not saying I agree with the price increase, but surely a 50% increase is extreme to say the least. Not only that but one of the many appeals about the chomp was that it only cost 10p, no hassle to buy: one coin and no change, but that is sadly no longer possible.

My final point (at least in this message) is that I dearly love chomps but with the new hefty price tag of 15p, it has entered a different league. It was a big fish in a little pool, but now is only a middle sized fish in a middle sized pool: worrying indeed!

I feel the same about Freddos!

They have also recently undergone a 50% price increase to 15p - they are so small there surely can't be 15p worth of chocolate there!!
Yes, Mini Milk ice lollies and Finger of Fudge's stayed at 12p for ages and didn't go up with inflation for years... sadly now they are 15p.

Even Ha'penny/ penny chews are a lot smaller and cost 2p.
i am happy to sit at the back of the room on this one?? i loved the chomp but yet at 10p it was to cheap and many years ago i got 1's worth and ate the lot!!! and felt very very sick afterwards?

perhaps they are trying to cut the amount of chocolate the little fat boy has in the future by increasing the price,

ie.... if i bought a 1's worth in todays market i would only have 6.6666 instead of 10 and i would be slightly thinner than i now am???
Hmmm...I never knew that the point of Chomp was that it costed 10p! Pardon me, I'm only 14 so I don't know as much about these things! I've heard of penny chews though! Oh yes, it is most certainly a disgrace about the 15p Chomp bar, someone ought to write a complaint! :D
Well, what about Penny Arrows? They seem to have disappeared and all I can see is a much larger, 10p version.
when chomps were 10p there was always dodgy shops like 'Home+Bargain' that sold them for 9p...perhaps we whould take oour business to these stores in protest, I'm sure they'll have chomps at 10p....

I noticed that they include chomp 'mini' is variety packs with 'freddo's'...If a mini chomp is the same as a freddo, why is freddo the same price as CHOMP regular on a single purchase...???

It's insane!

What happened to 'Taz's' Freddo's caramel filled sibling?
I had a Taz last week when I was doing my shopping (I paid for it of course).
I remember when penny chews cost a farthing. Try telling that to the kids of today...
Penny Arrows! that sounds familiar - it's bugging me -can't remember what they were. Please help
They were long chewy bars, in toffee, banana, strawberry and - my favourite - pineapple! They did indeed cost one old penny, and when we went decimal, they continued to cost one new penny, which was a rip-off as one new penny was worth @ 2.6 old pennies.
...and therefore showing a price increase far in excess of Chomp! bars. Dalylight robbery if you ask me.
after posting on this thread last night it gave me a taste for a chomp bar...............after putting some fuel in this morning i looked for a chomp, and there they were .............0.20p!!!!
20p for a chomp??? that is madness. i am now 20 but i remember when i used to go in the sweet shops and things were cheaper than they were now. chomps were 10p, milky bars were 15p and you could fill your mix-up bags with loads for 20p, with penny sweets - the little eggs and milk bottles....yum!!!
Penny Arrows were what i spent my last few old pennies on before we went decimal.....lovely
