Don't know the answer Blondie!..But i always picked them out ahead of the others! Always tasted better.
Because it's the only one with a flavouring.
yep thats right. the orange one contains an orange flavouring in the chocolate. i liked the blue ones but alas they are no more :(
I can recall as a child sorting them out into order of `liking`. This meant starting by eating the brown ones (I seem to remember there were two) and working up to the orange ones, my favourites. I wished that I could buy a tube with only orange ones, but no doubt that would have put me off for life!
Only Smarties have the answer ...sorry couldn't resist that
When I buy the kids smarties I always take (or pinch lol) there orange ones if anything I think I have become addicted. Sorry thats not an answer to your question, but feel better I have got my secret off my chest ty all.
can you remember when Samrties brought out tubes of just orange smarties?

I loved them.

I also want to disagree with the whole blue ones had flavour too statement - no way - they were just blue covered chocolate!
that should read Smarties, but I got too excited.
last post now about this

jut to prove I wasn't imagining it
I think it 's because orange flavour in chocolate is quite common and accepted - oh I was goin to say what other flavours could you even use? cherry? blackcurrant? But then you could use coffee I suppose - that's also quite a common chocolate flavouring... Mind you lots of ppl don't like coffee flavour.
Yeah there used be a light brown and very dark brown colours.
Now they have removed the blue smartie (only introduced relatively recently) in order to advertise that there are no artificial colours in Smarties.
Wow. That's a hell of an archive, briar!
it was a great find I thought to enable me to disprove my insanity luckyeight!
If this helps at all, I seem to recall writing to Smarties some years ago and they told me that they all tasted the same except the brown ones (which had extra chocolatey goodness built into the shell) and the orange ones (which contained orange oil in the shell).
Well Thats What Steve Wanted To Know... I Think That I Agree With The Fact That There Is Colouring Added To That One... Although I Have Never Realised This Before (: So... There You Go... Thanks Chums ")
