Banana flavoured ice cream with a stick of toffee inside.

Did I dream it? I can't find any reference to it and nobody I speak to can remember it.

I think it was Lyons Maid, but not positive about that.

...here is a link to a list of all the ice lollies that Lyons Maid made from 1925-1983 (complete with descriptions, pics and prices)...I can't recall anything called K..but I do remember a similar one called Bananarama (this was before the girl group of the same name) and Bananaman rings a bell too....

Hi Ethel

I remember a long banana ice lolly, very bananarish flavour, but don't recall toffee in the middle - but that's not to say there wasn't one........

So many products that are retailed in certain areas and not others....ones that are sold north of the border and others only in the south.

☺ xXx

Super sticky swisho had toffee and Animal world was banana - maybe you got the two of them in mind but I thought there was a banana one with toffee in too - Still searching - watch this space! lol

I'm fighting the urge to go and get out an ice cream now!!

Remember the Koola Kreem + Koola Fruit, and going to the flicks and having a Fruit Parfait for the first time.....thinking you were at the ritz!!

Shame their not all those prices now...........

too busy thinking about raiding the ice box!!
good link ermintrude-my mum bought a "Wonder Cake" for a big family party when I was little, I've never forgotten the taste of it and I've always been the only one in the family who remembers it, it was good to see it on the list, wish someone still made it!
It was called Lord Toffingham by Walls

Good heavens! How have you found this over two years later?

Thanks anyway, but it wasn't Lord Toffingham, that was dipped in chocolate, the one I'm thinking of certainly wasn't.

It had a yellow wrapper.
It was called Wall's Wiz! Leslie Crowther advertised the launch and there was a magic trick on the wrapper. They were so tasty! Picture on link below.

The Alba I knew was the ALuminium company of BAhrain.
Does anyone remember a strawberry or a banana flavour ice cream ice lolly from the 70's. It did not have toffee inside it. Names like big k or 4k could be something like. Have looked for it on Midland Counties link, but to no avail.
The ice cream was called a Big K and it had a picture of King Kong on the wrapper it wasn't Lyons Maid it was midland counties I remember it well
Hi blounty & unclenickers, I remember this "Big K" lolly very well as it was a big favourite of mine as a child. I think it was introduced in 1969 and was taken out in the mid 70s. I am pretty certain the 2 flavours were banana and raspberry (not strawberry) and it was indeed Midland Counties as I recall. The flavours were identical to the old Crusha liquid milk shake banana and raspberry flavours (which had a major recipe alteration for the worse about 7 years ago). I used to add milk to the liquid and freeze it, but could never get the softness of the original 70s ice lol. My favourite lolly of all time these 2.
I think it was called 'Wiz' and Leslie Crowther advertised it.
