I have recently decided to give up drinking alcohol. My problem is what to drink in its place. I find if I drink juices, mineral water or soft drinks I tend to drink these too quickly, which in a pub orother social setting means you are waiting for other to catch up.
Can anyone suggest some drink that are not so easily "knocked back"

Thanks

have you tried a sludge guzzler? you cant drink it too quick - it's grapefruit juice + diet coke - sounds vile but tastes yummy! (also looks vile, just to warn you!)
what about Calibre? Non-Alcholic beer.
Don't know what happened there, try again:

1 Lemonade with angostora bitters
2 soda water with big shot of lime
3 red bull with blackcurrant
4 orange and pineapple juice with shot of lime and drop of grenadine (comes out like a non alcoholic tequila sunrise, though i think grenadne is alcoholic but not that you would know cos you literally only use a drip)
5 schloer stuff (grape juice)
6 tescos do a lovely mexican key lime crush that i have in place of my fave lime bacardi breezer
7 at home i have lots of fruit smoothies/milks shakes
Often pubs and bars etc wil have a couple of non alcoholic cocktails on the cocktail menu but otehr than that like you i never know what to have that i won't knock back really fast unless its boring mineral water
Hi kilkenny. Just for the record, I was tee-total up until the age of 22, but still socialised regularly at weekends. I always drank soft drinks or juices in pubs and found that these were finished way before anyone else. So I simply didn't have a drink in my hand all night! People find it odd at first and try to ply you with drinks but they soon stop worrying if they realise that you're fine.

But if you want a 'slow' drink then try tomato juice.
I love pineapple juice & soda water in a pub,and Shloer at home.
A friend of mine, who does not drink alcohol, like to drink Schloer.
Fancy a pint , kilkenny ?
I notice that someone has suggested angostura bitters - I thought this contained alcohol
urine ,looks like lager and tastes better than lager in some pubs
