A second Krisy Kreme has opened in Oxford if that is closer to you. I haven't tried them yet though, however I will go after work tonight and buy a box then report back tomorrow morning. For educational purposes only you understand.
We've got one opening in a few weeks in Milton Keynes! :o)
Had some in America this year and they are great. There is no where here that sells anything like them. Years ago there was a Dunkin Doughtnuts that was simular, they had all different fillings, apricot, pineapple you name it they had them. Ummmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mmmmmmmm krispy kreme!!!! The original glazed doughnut is like heaven in doughnut form
I think they sell them in Selfridges in Birmingham as well tobeloy! Is that any closer to you?

Cheers, off doughnut hunting
Theres a Krispy Kreme store at the new 1000 acre square Tesco store in Slough (superstore domination at its best!). I refuse to eat the donuts after a friend said that they taste heavenly, but they are so light and powdery that you could eat 5 in a row. I dont need the temptation thank you very much!
You can eat one, maybe 2 without feeling sick, but that's enough. I suppose it depends on which ones you like. I have the custard filled chocolate iced ones.

Ooh I could just go a doughnut right now!!
Oh doglady, I ate 5 last time I had a box. Felt royally sick after but would probably do it again. I like the chocolate iced ones with the cream in the middle..God my mouth is watering. But in answer to your question tobeloy I would'nt do a 100 mile round trip for them, maybe you can order them online.
If you go to the effort, be sure to call ahead and get there when the Red Light sign is on! The sign says " Doughnuts Now Being Made". They're served hot and, in my opinion, the plain glazed ones are the best. Often, they will give a free one when they're just being fried...
Personally find them quite greasy and would not make a trip for them. However, if a 'Tim Hortons' (Canadian bagel and doughnut place ) were ever to open in the U.K. I'd be there like a shot!
they are good but they are tiny for the price.
Oh my God I lurrrrrvvvvvvvvvve Krispy Kreme. I first had them in Kentucky, USA 18 months ago when my friend introduced me to them. There is nothing like going into a Krispy Kreme when the light is on red which means that they've just cooked some of the original glazed and they are ready and hot! I've since had them in Florida (made us go out of our way to go there) and in New York. Not travelled especially in this country, yet, but if there's a branch in Oxford I may just have to go next time I visit the in-laws!
Like lots of things they don't travel well.......

Ouzo - Greece yes, home no

Ricard - France yes, home no

Krispy kremes - america yes, home no

Going to a KK outlet is fun but not worth travelling for.

They are no longer exclusive

You can buy them in Tesco in New Malden - that aint exclusive!

Give me an M&S Yum Yum any day
Ring donut (icing sugar coated) dunked in a mug of steaming hot black coffee - can't be beaten!!
