I've bought some noodles, veg and meat to fry - but what sauce goes with it? Do you just put soy sauce in?

i often make a sauce by frying a clove of garlic til its soft, adding some soy sauce, honey, pineapple juice and a tsp of tomato ketchup. its lovely with stir fry.

if you would rather buy a sauce then any one will do, sweet and sour, hoisin, plum, or just plain soy sauce with some ginger.

And there's me thinking you were making up something special for me!!

As ww has already said there is such a variety out there. Try experimenting with your favourite ingredients.

Some supermarkets now sell a good range of chinese sauces etc. If you are lucky enough to have a chinese grocer/supermarket near you its worth popping in and seeing all the different types they have. Lee Kum Kee make Sichuan Spicy Noodle Sauce. It's great to add to plain noodles/fried rice/veg stir-fry - whatever takes your fancy. It is quite hot, so only use a little to start with. You can always adjust, if you want a stronger flavour!

Another condiment you can use is Sesame Seed Oil, but only towards the end of cooking, just a few shakes in the mixture before you are ready to serve - gives it a nice nutty flavour.

Enjoy!!
