Thank you, I will try them a bit and feedback.

i had nutrache k in my countless apps but they want £6 a month to create recipes!!

Nutracheck

Nutracheck is a trusted, reliable, British company .I think you'd only have to pay for a month or two to get all the information you needed. It's not a lot really

These just seem to count the calories, which if you measure/weigh is easy enough to do yourself.

What I'd like is an app that you put in items you would like to cook with together with amount of claories you are looking for ( a range say ) and then have the app suggest recepies for those ingrediants and calorific amount.

https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/collection/healthy-recipes

The above and quite a few others, choose the recipe you fancy  and click on nutrition.

The second one I linked to states the protein and fat as well as the calories

Looks like an American site - working in cups?

Question Author

Nutracheck makes you continue a subscription in order to keep adding recipes

Ubasses, I want to add my own recipes that I have already adapted for my needs/taste.

It is American but some people in the UK have the US measuring cups, they're getting more common.

I'd prefer to pay the £6 for a month or two

I understand that DDIL but you can upload a lot of recipes in a month or two.

I've heard good things about Cronometer...

I found one 'myfitnesspal', you can upgrade to the full premium package but the basic one allows me to do what I need it too and it talks to my apple watch (I think)

Thanks everyone for your input.

Hurrah!  I recommended that app on here recently for something else. It does to be comprehensive

Question Author

The daft thing was I must of had it at some point as it was in my cloud!!

Once again everyone - thank you

I had it at one time, but deleted it because it made me feel guilty if I didn't hit my targets.  I don't need nagging 😂

Question Author

OMG I do need nagging!!

Bad habits have crept in (Its 8 years since I had my surgery) and slider foods are just too easy to eat. I also have a horrible sweet tooth even though it sets off the dumping syndrome!

this way I can set up my recipes, keep track of the protein and carbs etc and move forward healthy.

It is hard keeping the weight off, harder than losing it in the first place for me.  The guilt if I put weight on can be a massive burden to drag around.  People tell me a bit won't hurt, not to be so strict with myself - but I know fine well it's a slippery slope I've been down too many times before.

Top tip - never, ever wear stretchy clothes unless it is for a particular reason, swimming or exercise.  That tight waistband is a godsend.
