We've never tried it, my wife enjoys ice cream and it's currently on offer.

The flavours seem confusing, all chocolate or caramel.

Worth buying?

I bought an ice cream maker.  I've used it once.  It lives in a cupboard.  Easier to buy.

Best ice cream ever. At one point Id  go to the cinema just to get a milkshake. I became know as 'milkshake woman' by the cinema staff.

Pasta I first discovered Haagen Dazs when visiting family (by marriage) in New York in the 80s. It wasn't available over here then but the family also raved about Breyers peach ice-cream.

It's £3 for Tesco Clubcard customers, that's why my wife was tempted to try Ben & Jerry's

Thanks, Toorak

My favourite was Cherry Garcia, but I think they discontinued it.

I know Ben and Jerry's very well and have been to Waterbury in Vermont - (their main centre). Not least, I applied for their job for 'yo ho - we want a CEO' before Unilever came along.

Their taste portfolio was too large - keeping Jerry under control as to flavour development would have been a challenge as a the 'menu' needed to be seriously culled and then also to allow mainstream flavours like Cherry Garcia to be put on longer periods on their continual-flow production lines.

They needed a 'graveyard' for their old flavours and they could have tried bringing back a flavour from time to time using their batch production - in addition to trialling new flavours.

Their big plus point was the work that they did with Vermont farmers behind scenes to up the milk and cream content production as well as $ returns - though, from what I understand, a lot of this may have been done away once Unilever's bean-counters went into bat. In part , the downfall began in employing an ex-Winchester Rifles man in the eteop job who had no real retail experience......

p.s. I enjoyed meeting Ben.

^^^ Cherry Garcia flavour is only available in the UK through Ben & Jerry's 'Scoop Shops'.  Looking at where those are located though, seems to suggest that they're principally (solely?) in cinemas:

Thanks 'chico. Damned if I'm paying cinema prices for it though! I'll stick to Iceland own brand.
