Does a whole chicken freeze from the inside out, or outside in?

I put one in the freezer about an hour and a half ago, and now the Mr has decided he wants me to cook it for sandwiches. It's only a small one. I've taken it back out of the freezer and it's still soft. Do you reckon it could be frozen on the inside where I can't feel? I'll give it a couple of hours before cooking it. Do you think that would be enough?

From the outside in, so the middle is probably not frozen yet.
I'd run some cold water from the tap through the insides for a minute or two.....
Just cook it as normal (but don't eat any yourself!).
