Reading a book set in Yorkshire and the family sat down to a meal of panacklety.
I had to Google this.

I'd give it a go. All ingredients I like, make first thing in the morning, rest of the day to myself- what's not to like
Never heard of it but sounds good. Might give it a try tonight.
Geordie/Mackem dish isn't it?
Never heard of it, but will try it soon. Sounds delicious
My mum all those years ago, used to make this, but we just knew it as "Corned Beef Casserole"....and yes, it is very tasty!
I thought to look up "pan haggerty" (a name I'd heard) to see if they were the same. I found myself at Wikipedia -

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Panackelty

& for some reason clicked the 1st entry in "External links"... :-)

Yep, a staple meal of my childhood, minus the bacon and cheese. We called it corned beef hotpot, I loved it.
I make it occasionally these days.
That's what I call comfort food..
Must try it. Sounds tasty!

Like a kinda corned beef hash. I'm gonna try it, just gotta buy some corned beef.
That looks like real comfort food :)
Yes, all the ingredients of a good family filler - often towards the end of the week when pennies were scarce.

Good find Maj, fancy AB being an external link on the Wiki page.
I often make it for MrB
The photo in the wiki article doesn't look very appealing.
No but the external link brings up an old AB thread.
Corned beef used to be cheap but it’s not any more.
That's Bobbie's Panacklety that she makes for Mr B, Pasta.
I guess you don't value your life Roy... ;)
I've been hacked!
Pan hacked ?
I couldn't eat that. It would be greasy. I don't like cooked corned beef.
I might try it with some leftover roast meat though. That might be nice.
