I went into the bank today to do a few transactions and was, yet again, met with blatant discrimination due to my disability - do I have a disability?...I'll have a look in the mirror...ah yes, seemingly I do - and was treated to what was called the "does he take sugar?" brigade. Well, after I had stolidly remarked "that I do not need an interpreter and I'm only blind in the eyes, not the brain", I said to my partner, who was the addressee of this offensive filth, that I might contact the Woke brigade and go on a march, after all, everyone's doing it (seemingly) and the person in the bank thought this very funny and in fact, hadn't stopped finding things funny even when insulting me. So there you go folks, another day in the nice bright and breezy world of let's go and offend someone, eh! Ta Muchly and apologies for the rant. Keep Well and Safely Sane, for those of you who care!

How exactly were you insulted Woody?
Complain to the Bank in the first instance, that's very shoddy service.

The bank person spoke directly to my partner, saying "can he...""willhe he be able to.. - my partner was embarrassed, I know, as she has had to listen to this before and when I said what I said about it, all they could do was laugh it off with an empty apology, as if it was like some big joke and even as leaving the bank, they came across with the same inane and vacuous words. Yeah, I know it's easy to say I should have thicker skin, but when you get this discrimination day after day from all kinds of sources, it's not that easy to brush it off - I could turn ablind eye of course!...hiya Mamya, how ya doin'!
poor service all round woodelf, i would complain i must admit.
Woody, complain to the manager. That was disgraceful treatment you received.
Hi Woodelf, not too bad thank you x

You're right, it's not the worst thing that could happen in a day but it's damned irritating and should be dealt with at training level for customer facing staff.
sorry to hear this woodelf. Its the 21st century For Funks Sake, whats their excuse?
Are they a huge bank ? mind you do small banks exist these days?
Id take mamalynnes advice if i was you.
Two sides to the coin.
Many people find it embarrassing to deal with the handicapped who may be rather "touchy."
Plus, what is, or are the persons handicaps, may not be obvious to the naked eye.
May work both ways.
I don't think that's the issue at all Sqad, why would you speak to the person stood next to your customer?

Speak to the customer and if they need help from their partner etc then they can instigate that.
What's embarrassing about dealing with someone with a disability?

TTT who is that addressed to?
I'd like to know that too.

why would you even go to a bank branch anyway? What did you need to do?
Can we sort this out?

It's none of your business why someone has visited a branch.

If you are happy for a cashier to ignore you and speak to the person beside you then you are unusual.

This is an open thread on the internet, it's as much my business as it is yours.
