We have had two large black crows in our garden for a couple of years, they had a ‘baby’ last year who followed them everywhere, but it was very nervous, every time it saw food on the grass it would jump away from it. I have a feeling it was killed by one of the parents as it didn’t seem able to look after itself. I did see one of these adult birds fighting with the other one at one time, laying on top of it, but they seemed to reconcile. This week I have noticed only one crow, could the other one be permanently nesting? Needless to say l always feed them, and they watch me through the window and wait for their food. Very clever, if bread is too hard they soak it in the bird bath. Just wondering what could have happened to his partner.

Possibly busy during nesting season ?
Question Author
Would the other one stay on the nest and not come for food? Or does the partner take it food to the nest while nesting?

She came back this morning, must be nesting. Glad they are both OK.
