Short report from Sainsbury's in a North West coastal resort in U.K.

A free for all, packed down the aisles, some shoppers masked others not and the large trolleys heaped to the gunnels with produce. Turkeys, bacon sausages, payslips etc champagne and beer......some restricted Christmas.
No restrictions on the number of shoppers allowed in attending same time which was regulated BEFORE the severe restrictions recently announced.
Variant laughing and rubbing its protein spikes ready for a New Year bonanza.
Happy Christmas from sqad and the Variant.

why don;t you shop on line...
The government has caused the panic buying by cancelling peoples' plans 4 days before christmas, hence everyone is out trying to snap up a christmas dinner at the last minute. Yesterday, I walked away from two Waitrose stores and one M&S store because of queueing so from what I can see, the shops around here are limiting the amount of people inside as they did in the original lock down. Even the butcher was only allowing one person inside at the a time.
or wasn't that an option.

We do.
Mrs sqad likes fresh produce which she can't be guaranteed on-line.
I don't know what our local waitrose will be like and have no intention of finding out. they have no rule it seems now on numbers, nor making sure people wear a mask.
ok, alas people are in the same boat.
I’m just going to shops in a bit, I imagine it will be like most other days I’ve been, most people going by the rules, doing their own thing, minding their own business. Braw
doing their own thing?

I didn't think that you could be bothered with such mundane activity , as venturing into a supermarket , for yourself

Surely you have an 'intern ' for that sort of thing ?
Question Author
LOL Bailey....I do.Mrs sqad..
//doing their own thing?//
Aye, like shopping, having a cup of tea or whatever else they are there for
I went to Sainsbury's yesterday expecting the worse. It was just a normal shopping day with plenty of produce everywhere - you couldn't move for sprouts! I got everything I wanted and didn't even have to queue to pay, I walked straight to a till. So glad it was like that as I don't intend to go shopping again until next week.

Bazile..
to shop and get out presumably,
You're having a baileys sqad ?

I didn't realise that the sun was over the yard arm already
according to the post there doesn't seem to be any rules.
where can I buy payslips? do they come with actual pay?
Question Author
Bazile....I have fond memories of supermarkets and the routine, as Mrs sqad would get my newspaper, sort a table for me in the restaurant, order my eggs bacon, sausage and beans and then go off to do her shopping with me settled for my breakfast.
I can't see why shopping is a chore.
its always been a chore.
My son works for Sainsbury's. His boss text him & his fellow workers to say people have been panic buying again. Then boasting to say they had made £250.000 in one day!
